Well,that last part with the music hit me so hard with nostalgia, the first time I experienced ps2 game which was Enter the Matrix and I couldn't believe how beautiful it was and the first time when I played Metal gear solid 4 in PS3 was blown away with it's graphics, and the first time starting Gears of War in Xbox 360, man that was the era for gamers, wish those time just come back.

Making games is fun. I'm a veteran game designer, I've worked on the 8th generation of consoles' games; I was inspired by the 7th generation titles and wanted to learn how to take gaming to photographic cinematographic levels. This was costly, the games were intense, but that's not what a lot of gamers want. They want escape. Unity, Syndicate, Titanfall 1&2, MGS V, Advanced Warfare,everyone did their best, but the games were not intended to be fun, they were intended to make you feel, to transport you to another universe. Gaming is easy, when developers stop making games the way I designed them. People are tired of that, they want mindless fun like it use to be when we were kids in the 90's. Games don't have to make sense, they demand disbelief.

The problem is that the trolls ruined voice chat in the Xbox 360 era. The amount of times someone would drop a N bomb the minute that voice chat was enabled was disgusting. Maybe with all the AI tools we have there can be some better monitoring of online harassment and overt racism leading the insta bans.

as a pc person. i dislike that my system runs better but most ports from consoles leave out features like a pc cant handle it. most notorious was 2K bringing out next gen basketball for console and leaving it out for pc. I didn't go and buy a console to get the full experience. I just gave up playing those titles.

The gaming comunity has changed over the past 15 - 20 years and most of them ruined everything by being too demanding, complianing about everything known to man or not being supportive enough when they need to and the love isn't there in the game devopment anymore because they are treated poorly by management who are only in it for the money and because we allow it to continue by purchasing every thing they make. The devoplers have also lost the enjoyment of creating something and being proud of their acomplishments and now what used to be enjoyment has turned into a desk job that has them thinking if they'll be layed off or closed down all the time.

This video is the representation of just how much stuff sucks now, in gaming and in life. Speaking for myself, things just aren't as fun anymore. I miss being excited for games, and I miss my friends. Everyday is just working to tred water.

the reason they are still making games available for ps4 and xbox one is simple. they released the new generation during cobib, and only a select few people were able to get their hands on the new consoles for a very long span of time. so it actually made sense. but at this point i agree. they are easily obtainable now. they need to move on.

Maybe not relevant to the video or maybe it is, but I have a problem with a lot of money-sinks who spout on about "just get a PC" The reason is took me YEARS to get a good top of the line PC ($3,200) was money, money my parents needed to spend on general payments like taxes, groceries, and gas. A lot of my friends also all play on Xbox so I put off asking for a PC for years. I got my PC last year at the end of June of 2023. I had friends who played on PC but I just couldn't bare to leave my Xbox friends behind. A lot of these Xbox friends either don't have the money to waste on PC or are trying to save up but are having to pay for general everyday needs instead. Not everyone is as rich as these streamers who rack in close to hundreds-of-thousands of dollars a year, where they can buy expensive setups, cars, and houses. And it angers me that they will consistently sit online whether live, a video, or posting a message to social media saying "just get a PC its better. " Often times as well, PCs require a hell of a lot more maintenance than consoles, time that someone might not have. Eventually leading to more money spent if your fans break, your mother board cracks, or one of your cords snaps off its port.

When your game makes people want to give death threats... then gaming has crossed a dark line we cannot allow to continue. Gaming needs to end, because the users are too toxic and uncivil. Gamers don't grow up, and their families suffer from their out of control behavior. The gaming golden age was bad, and history will remember it as a dark chapter of how people retreated from the real world into a dark fantasy.

There's no incentives to upgrade since 9th generation's price are so stupidly expensive with so little games on its library, and heck it's better to just play on PC at this point, because you can play everything on PC from modern games and classic games through emulation.

You sort "jumped" ps4 gen a lot in this video - the console that had Infamous second son and Killzone as the only games available for a while. Current gen is worse? By all means, yes - but you console players had a fair warning, TLOU and GTAV made some of you forget it. Nowadays, I consider buying a console so I can just play on the living room while not seeing the PC I work (from home) for a few hours, but I might just get a mini PC instead, depending on how PC hardware evolves or not (somehow, Microsoft decided to require recent hardware to run all the new bad features, while Apples is advertising their "AI" in 2020 laptops... And some PCs are super hot, making me really reconsider the hole mini PC in the living room thing . I don't want to burn down my house). So there is that. PS4 gen kinda sucked for a long time, should be a warning, but sometimes not looking at the PC is just too good to pass - like watching people play live on my couch instead of playing on PC.

Switched to Pc in 2020 and now that I think about it I’ve never seen a ps5 or Xbox series x in person. While growing up going to anyone’s house they had the next console. Could be a combination of growing up and this generation being so dead and out of reach at the time of release

one very specific benefit of the Xbox Series X is it plays Ninja Gaiden II (360 version) without the freezes that the 360 had. But it also needs an internet connection to function so not a perfect solution in the long run
